One of the contenders to win the Liga MX title this season could be Pachuca, as they finished 2nd in Apertura last season. The club didn’t do so well in Clausura, as they finished 10th, but Pachuca is optimistic that the addition of Edson Puch will be enough to get them back into title contention. Puch will need to have a big season because the team lost Hirving Lozano to PSV in the off-season. Pachuca also made another high profile signing, as they added Japanese legend Keisuke Honda. He is a former Milan midfielder who should help out the club’s defense.
Pachuca Mexican Liga MX Odds
Pachuca should be improved on paper entering the 2017-2018 season, but which team will show up? Will it be the one that finished 2nd in Apertura or the club that finished a disappointing 10th in Clausura? If it is somewhere in between then the playoffs are no guarantee this season.

Pachuca 2017-18 Predictions
There is a lot to like about Paschua heading into the 2017-2018 season, as they are expected to have a 4-2-3-1 lineup for manager Diego Alonso. The club has a solid goal keeper in Oscar Perez and an excellent defensive duo of Omar Gonzalez and Oscar Murillo. The midfield is solid with Jorge “Burrito” Hernández making plays and he is joined by Erick Gutiérrez. The addition of Honda to go along with Puch and Urretaviscaya should give Paschua some serious goal scoring punch. Puch and Urreta both had 19 goals last season.
The starting forward spot should be a battle between Franco Jara, Ángelo Sagal and Germán Cano. Jara has 31 goals in 58 Liga MX games but he struggled at times last season.
Whenever a team loses a key player there is always concern, but Pachuca didn’t sit idly by and do nothing, as they made some good off-season moves. It may take some time for everyone to get on the same page, so the club could struggle a bit in Apertura. There is a good chance, however, that Alsono gets everyone on the same page and that the club is a serious threat in Clausura.
Anything less than making the playoffs would be a definite disappointment for this club but fans may have to be patient, as there are a lot of new players to integrate into the system for the 2017-2018 season.
