Liverpool surprised some people last year by finishing in the Top 4 in the Premier League for just the second time in the last eight seasons. It won’t be easy for Liverpool to repeat that success in 2017-2018, as manager Jurgen Klopp will have to find enough rest for his top players with The Reds playing in the Champions League this season. Liverpool tried to address some of their weaknesses in the off-season but it was a mixed bag, as they did get Andrew Robertson and Mohamed Salah but they were not able to get Naby Keita. Oddsmakers are not sure if Liverpool is a Top 4 team, so they set the odds on Liverpool finishing in the Top 4 at even money.
Liverpool Premier League Futures Odds
Odds To Win Premier League: +1200
Odds To Finish Top 4: +100
Total Points Over/Under: 74.5
Liverpool has odds to win the Premier League of +1200. Those odds seem way too low considering Liverpool has not won the title since 1989-90 when the league was known as Division 1. The odds on a Top 4 finish also may be too optimistic considering The Reds just barely finished in the Top 4 a year ago and now they have to deal with added games in the Champions League, plus improved teams in Manchester City and Manchester United.

What's New?
The big addition for Liverpool is Mohamed Salah, who the team got from Roma. Liverpool also added Andrew Robertson from Hull City and Dominic Solanke from Chelsea.
Salah has fit like a glove into Klopp’s system, Solanke looks like a solid option in back of Daniel Sturridge and Andrew Robertson gives James Milner a break.
What's Gone?
Liverpool lost Kevin Stewart to Hull, Lucas Leiva to Lazio, Andre Wisdom to Derby and they loaned out Connor Randall to Hearts and Pedro Chirivella to Willem II.
Liverpool may also lose Philippe Countinho who is a target of Barcelona. Liverpool rejected a bid by Barcelona in July and Klopp has said that Countinho is not for sale. That may just be posturing by Klopp, as Barcelona may be prepared to pay $100 million for Countinho.
Liverpool 2017-18 Predictions
Liverpool will have to overcome a lot to finish in the Top 4 again in 2017-2018. The team has to play in the Champions League which will wear them down, they have to deal with the rumors surrounding Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona and they have to hope Sturridge is focused all season. They also have to improve what is a so-so defense.
Klopp said before the season to The Mirror that he realizes last year was a positive one for his club. "When we finished last season in fourth position everybody was really happy about it - it was really a good result for a big effort.” Klopp believes his team is in good shape for this season even with all of the pressure of playing in the Champions League. "We showed it in Dublin again that we are in a good shape. So everything is in a good way - but of course now we have to deliver, and we know that, so we are ready for it.”
Liverpool has all the looks of a team that is going to slip this season. They surprised a lot of people by finishing in the Top 4 last season but the players seemed to wear down at times and it will be even worse this season with the Champions League schedule added to their Premier League games.
Oddsmakers may be too optimistic on The Reds, as the team doesn’t look any better than they were a year ago and they may be worse, especially if Countinho leaves.
Going under the points total and also taking Liverpool to finish outside of the Top 4 could be the way to go, as a 6th or 7th place finish seems more likely for The Reds than a Top 4 finish.
